Symon Cowles is a New Jersey artist, known for painting and lithography. Cowles has exhibited his work in a many solo and group exhibitions including two retrospective shows in the art gallery of The Union League Club in New York city. Early in his career Mr. Cowles studies took him to The Art Students League in New York and The Yard School of Art in New Jersey. He has also had guidance and inspiration from the noted Italian artist, Walter Lazzaro, in Milan, Italy. With a blend of reality and imagination, his work is marked by an unfettered approach that encourages traditional subjects to be depicted in a contemporary style, and elements of modern life to be shown in a classical form. His strongest influences are the 17th century Dutch masters and the current Contemporary Realists in the 21st century.
