Borge Lindau (1932-1999) was qualified as what was then the Swedish Society of Arts and Crafts in Gothenburg and became one of the country's most recognised designers. Börge Lindau was a dynamic Swedish designer known for his bold, expressive furniture and deep cultural engagement. Born in Åhus into a family of cabinetmakers, he co-founded the influential design duo Lindau & Lindekrantz, which gained international acclaim for reimagining steel furniture in the 1960s. After the duo split, Börge returned to Åhus and eventually founded Blå Station in 1986, producing the innovative OBLADO furniture line using eco-conscious materials and sculptural forms. He treated spaces like stages, designing furniture with movement and drama, and believed that shaping a room was a spiritual act. Deeply involved in Åhus' cultural life, he founded AOSEUM and brought jazz, art, and theatre to the town. Börge was a force of creativity and energy who lived by the motto: To Be and To Do – ToBeDo!
