Titled "The Hayride", depicts a figural rural landscape scene with a red barn, acrylic on board, signed lower right. Provenance: purchased by the consigner at The Peel Gallery in Danby, Vermont in 1985. Steven Klein was born in New York City, raised on Long Island, educated at New York Institute of Technology, with degrees in advertising and fine art.
Steven Klein chooses to paint in a naive style in order to transcend the structures and confines of traditional realism of which he had become a master. Klein's art reshapes nature into a stylized yet simplified concept, often mingled with wit and humor.
