This handcrafted studio pottery vessel features a low, wide form with a richly variegated surface, achieved through a traditional smoke-firing technique. The body bears organic, mottled patterns in earthy tones, resulting from exposure to smoke and flame during the firing process. Around the wide opening, a hand-carved geometric rim is finished with a metallic-look paint or glaze, imitating the appearance of copper or bronze but retaining the warmth and texture of raw clay beneath. The interior is unglazed, revealing smooth terracotta walls with concentric throwing rings visible from the hand-building process.

This piece blends naturalistic effects with sculptural detail and is likely made by a contemporary ceramic artist working in Southwestern or raku-inspired traditions. Though unsigned, it demonstrates skilled craftsmanship and aesthetic balance.
