Dante Alighieri (1265–1321), the famed Italian poet best known for The Divine Comedy, has long been celebrated not only for his literary genius but also as a symbol of Italian cultural identity and intellectual legacy. His distinctive features—long, austere face, aquiline nose, laurel wreath, and characteristic medieval cap—have made him a popular subject for sculptural portraiture, particularly busts.
