Steuben Glass was founded in 1903 in Corning, New York, but was acquired by Corning Glass Works in 1918 after wartime restrictions depleted its materials. Facing plummeting sales during the Great Depression, Steuben shifted its focus to producing colorless art glass, leading to some of its most iconic Art Deco and modernist pieces. Though the company was later shut down in 2011, Corning Incorporated repurchased the brand, and the Corning Museum of Glass now works with contractors to reproduce Steuben using a modern, lead-free formula.
Minor scratches.
