George Herbert Walker Bush was born in 1924, the son of a United States senator who represented Connecticut. Bush was a decorated naval pilot who flew torpedo bombers during World War II. He and Mrs. Barbara Bush married in 1945 and had four sons: George W., John (Jeb), Marvin, and Neil. They had two daughters, Dorothy (Doro), and Robin, who tragically died in 1953 at the age of four after fighting leukemia. Bush’s own career in politics began in 1963 when he was elected chairman of the Harris County (Texas) Republican Party. Bush served two terms as Vice President of the United States from 1981 to 1989, and served as the 41st President of the United States from 1989 to 1993. The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum is located on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. President George H. W. Bush and Mrs. Barbara Bush both passed away in 2018 and were buried together on the grounds of the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum at the Bush Family gravesite, located on the campus of Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
