Sherman Terrance Chaddlesone (1947–2013) was a prominent Kiowa painter and sculptor born in Anadarko, Oklahoma, and a direct descendant of Chief Satanta. After serving in the Vietnam War, he studied under legends Allan Houser and Fritz Scholder at the Institute of American Indian Arts before embarking on a full-time career celebrated for fine art paintings, bronze sculptures, and tribal murals. Following his passing, his artistic legacy was honored by his alma mater through the creation of the annual Sherman Chaddlesone Arts & Letters Lecture Series.
