Shan-Merry (born 1935) is a French painter and graphic artist best known for her elegant watercolors of the female nude, her work in fabric and illustration design, and her contributions to limited‑edition graphic art. She began her formal artistic training in 1957 at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers in Angers, France, and by 1972 was exhibiting professionally in Paris and throughout the South of France; by the 1990s her work had reached international collections and shows in Belgium, Germany, Japan, and the United States. In addition to her fine art exhibitions, Shan‑Merry has designed scarves for HERMÈS, published books and catalogs, created illustrations for periodicals, appeared on French television, and received honors including the New York Watercolor Prize and the Italian Academy “Gold Medal” Signature Prize.
