Shadow Puppets Recreation of Cirebon 'Companie Toembok' (Rampokan Tumbak).
The original is found in the British Museum and was created some time between Late 1700s-Early 1800s (pre 1816) in the Southeast Asian country of Indonesia.
It features a shadow puppet of a marching army. “Rampogan” refers to the visual representation of a unit or line of soldiers. There are two types, could be a line of human soldiers or a line of giants.
Appears to be created from hide, like the original, show signs of extreme wear and aging.
