Schoenhut, Humpty Dumpty Circus. Large Circus tent with a variety of circus figures, animals and props. 36 inches wide.
Schoenhut Humpty Dumpty Circus, around the turn of the century. The company Schoenhut was founded by a German in America, the company was making circus models and dolls, that soon enjoy great popularity, Schoenhut circus models are one of the few toys that were also common in Europe. Other classic American toys made of cast-iron weren't successful in Europe, Schoenhut was using an elastic band mechanism, that was also used in German and French porcelain head dolls, to give the figures and animals maximum flexibility.
