Saudi Knotted and Beaded Camel Band with Bells. Traditional multicolored hand-knotted and beaded camel band or belt with attached bells.

Camel belts are traditional woven or embroidered bands used to decorate and secure saddles and loads on camels, especially in regions across North Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia. These belts are often richly adorned with vibrant colors, tassels, shells, beads, and symbolic patterns that reflect local craftsmanship and cultural identity. Beyond their functional use in stabilizing cargo or riding gear, camel belts also serve a ceremonial and aesthetic purpose, transforming the working animal into a moving canvas of regional artistry during festivals, weddings, and parades. Today, antique and vintage camel belts are appreciated as striking examples of nomadic textile art and are frequently repurposed in home décor or fashion.
