Samuel Lane was a prominent British portrait artist who was born in England in 1780. He suffered from deafness and partial muteness but was still able to train under renowned artists Sir Thomas Lawrence and Joseph Farington.
He exhibited works at prestigious institutions like the British Institution, Royal Society of British Artists, and the Royal Academy
