'Island Park, Sarasota Florida' watercolor, signed lower right Samuel H. Coward. Coward was born in New Bern, North Carolina, and attended Ringling Art School in Sarasota, Florida, and after a stint in the army, earned a degree at the Art Institute in Kansas City, Missouri. After moving to Sarasota, he started his own interior design business which prospered. Coward was an artist who painted the Jewels on the Bay renderings for the Boys & Girls Club charity each year.
