After studying in Madrid, he joined the Surrealists in Paris, where he met his muse Gala and quickly became a leading figure, producing iconic works like The Persistence of Memory. Following his break from the Surrealist group, Dalí and Gala moved to the United States during World War II, where he gained celebrity status and published his autobiography.
