Artist Biography:
Salvador Dalí (1904–1989) was a Spanish surrealist artist known for his eccentric and imaginative works. Born in Figueres, Catalonia, Dalí's work spanned painting, sculpture, photography, and filmmaking. He is best known for his surreal landscapes filled with bizarre and dream-like imagery, such as the iconic melting clocks in "The Persistence of Memory." Dalí's distinctive style combined hyper-realistic detail with fantastical elements, often exploring themes of dreams, subconscious, and the irrational. A master of self-promotion and flamboyant behavior, he became one of the most recognizable and controversial figures in 20th-century art.
