Rylie Dexter was born in Colchester, Connecticut in 1994. As a child he developed a love of art and storytelling, influenced by both contemporary and classical works and drawn to anime cinema. He graduated from Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida in 2017 with honors, receiving his BFA in film. He went on to work as a video editor for a major entertainment company, while also working on theatrical productions and gradually returning to his first love, visual art. Today he makes costumes, sculptures, assemblages, acrylics, watercolors, digital artwork, and films from his home studio in the Tampa Bay area, with his whimsical surrealist “Post Pulp” style appreciated by collectors along the East Coast.
Dylan H. Jones was born in West Virginia in 1984 and grew up in Minnesota before his family settled in Florida in 1993. Drawn to art, dance, acting, and music from a young age, he eventually focused on writing, with his first published work a musical based on the poem "Beowulf" for his graduate thesis at New College of Florida in 2006. He started his own theater company, Little Grey Hat Productions, in 2014, producing award-winning works including "Copenhagen" and "The Last Five Years," as well as winning the Theatre Odyssey Ten-Minute Play Festival in 2017 and having original plays selected for readings by local theaters and Dramatists Guild. "On the Shores of Gitche Gumee" is the first of a planned trilogy of plays set in Minnesota over the course of thirty years, and his first collaboration with artist Rylie Dexter.
From Theatre Odyssey Founder, Tom Aposporos: "For over 21 years and the production of several hundred plays by both emerging and established playwrights, Theatre Odyssey’s mission as a Florida Not For Profit Corporation is unchanged: To engage our audience in short, innovative works while providing a nurturing environment that encourages, challenges, and inspires playwrights and other theater artists. We appreciate your support!"
