Rollin Karg (born 1944 in Columbus, Ohio) is an American glass artist and sculptor celebrated for his innovative blown-glass creations that blend vibrant color, fluid form and traditional technique with contemporary artistic flair. Initially trained as an industrial engineer and having explored photography, pottery and woodworking, Karg “accidentally” discovered his passion for glassblowing in the 1980s and opened his own studio, Karg Art Glass, in Kechi, Kansas, where he has crafted distinctive sculptures, paperweights and large-scale glass works often enhanced with dichroic and other striking color effects. His pieces—characterized by their interplay of light, color and form—have been exhibited in galleries and collections across the United States and Canada, and he has earned numerous awards while also incorporating metal and other materials into dynamic mixed-media sculptures.
