Robert Wyland (born 1956), known professionally as Wyland, is an American artist celebrated for his large-scale marine life murals and conservation-themed artworks. Rising to prominence in the 1980s, he gained international recognition for his “Whaling Walls,” a series of more than one hundred monumental outdoor murals depicting whales, dolphins, and ocean ecosystems, painted across cities worldwide. Wyland works in various media, including painting, sculpture, photography, and limited-edition prints, often blending realism with a message of environmental stewardship. His art has become closely associated with ocean conservation, and he founded the Wyland Foundation to promote water and marine life awareness.
