Robert Wyland (b.1956) California, "Minds in the Water." Signed on the coral, dated 1999. Numbered 6/2000. Bronze dolphin sculpture. The marine wildlife artist, Robert Wyland, was born in Detroit, Michigan. He attended the Center forCreative Studies in Detroit majoring in painting and sculpture. Wyland, who paints in watercolors and oils, celebrates underwater sea life in his paintings and bronze sculptures. He is also known for his conservation efforts. In 1993, hefounded the Wyland Foundation to promote and protect ocean resources through life-sized public art, educational programs and support for environmental groups. In 1998 the United Nations proclaimed him official artist for theInternational Year of the Ocean. Size: 18 x 16 x 5 in. Location A/B
