Robert Marble (born 1946, Santa Monica, CA) is an American illustrator, cartoonist, and painter celebrated for his whimsical, anthropomorphic animal print series. A self-taught artist who left his career as a commercial illustrator and art director in 1974 to pursue humor-driven artwork, Marble developed a distinctive style featuring animals in everyday, often absurd scenarios, always accompanied by his signature little red bird, “Ricochet Redfeather.” Operating from Newport Beach since 1980 alongside his wife Marie, he produces limited-edition offset lithographs and acrylic paintings that gently satirize modern life and human quirks. His pieces—like “The Barnstormer” and “Law in Motion”—are widely available at regional art fairs, private collections, and occasional auctions across the U.S., appreciated for their clean-lined charm and nostalgic humor.
