Robert L. Brubaker (April 7, 1921 – October 27, 2011) was an American painter and professional sign-painter from Union City and later Versailles, Ohio, known for his warm, representational landscapes, still lifes, genre scenes, and watercolors. A decorated veteran and active member of community art groups such as the Greenville Art Guild, he later taught and exhibited locally, earning recognition in regional art circles and auctions. His carefully composed paintings often depicted rural subjects—barns, winter snowscapes, domestic interiors, and Americana—with a soft, nostalgic realism that appealed to collectors. While admired for his strong technique and evocative style, some critics felt that his broad range of subjects lacked thematic focus, which may have limited his wider acclaim.
