Robert Kalthoff (born 1936) is an American painter associated with the postwar and contemporary art period. He graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1964 and developed a body of work that spans figurative painting, drawing, landscape, and printmaking. His art often explores the human figure through classical and impressionistic influences, with subjects ranging from nude studies and portraits to landscapes and Southwestern scenes. Known works include Immortality (1976), a figurative oil painting inspired by classical themes, as well as landscape paintings such as Mirror Rock at Purple Lake (1968) and The Old House, Jerome Arizona (1999). His career reflects a sustained interest in both the natural world and the human form, producing works that combine traditional draftsmanship with expressive, painterly techniques.
