Robert Emmett Owen was an American Impressionist known for vivid, color-filled paintings of New England’s rural landscapes and changing seasons. Trained at the Eric Pape School of Art, Art Students League, Chase School, and National Academy of Design, he also had a successful career as an illustrator and exhibited widely, including at the National Academy of Design, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and Corcoran Gallery of Art. His work is held in collections including the Frick Art Museum and Bruce Museum.
