Artist Biography:
Robert Burns Wilson (1850–1916) was an American painter, poet, and writer best known for his landscapes and portraits, which reflected the natural beauty of the American frontier. Born in Parker, Pennsylvania, Wilson moved to Kentucky in the 1870s, where he became a significant figure in the local art scene, particularly in Frankfort. He was also recognized for his poetry, with his most famous work being the patriotic poem *Remember the Maine*, published during the Spanish-American War. His artistic style combined elements of realism and romanticism, capturing the spirit of the natural world in the American South. Wilson's legacy remains influential in both art and literature.
