A tungkot malehat is a magic staff used by shamans of the Karo people of Indonesia. Carved out of the wood of Cassia javanica, they have a more simplistic design than that of the tunggal panaluan of the Toba Batak people. The only carved part of the tungkot malehat is its top part, usually carved with a human figure; this one is adorned with human hair. It is generally accepted that the tungkot malehat is a more recent development of the tunggal panaluan.
