Restoration Hardware Maxwell Distressed Leather Luxe Chair. The intentionally distressed material is in their luxurious cigar brown shade, with the interior filled with polyurethane foam. Original tags under the long seat cushion and on the underside. Rests on four short wood blocks for the feet.

Originally founded as Restoration Hardware in 1979 by Stephen Gordon in Eureka, California, the brand initially specialized in hard-to-find vintage fixtures for Victorian homes. In 2001, former Williams-Sonoma executive Gary Friedman took over as CEO and steered the company away from nostalgic trinkets into a high-end luxury lifestyle brand. After being taken private by equity firms in 2008, the company dropped “Restoration Hardware” and rebranded as simply “RH” in 2017. Under Friedman, RH expanded globally and transformed standard retail into immersive, museum-scale “Design Galleries” that frequently feature rooftop restaurants, wine bars, and design ateliers.
