And by the time Reuben Timmins (1910-1984) stopped drawing, he had helped bring to life some of the most beloved cartoon characters during the Golden Age of Animation. The original family name was Teninsky then at Ellis Island they changed it to Timinsky and finally Reuben changed it to Timmins. And as Reuben Timmins with the Fleisher brothers he worked on Betty Boop. At Disney, Donald Duck and Goofy got to know his talents. At Hanna-Barbera he worked on 'Tom & Jerry as well as with Mr. Magoo and a Panther who was pink. At Warners he worked with joy on their most famous character, a rabbit named Bugs. Think about that for a minute. Disney. Hannah-Barbera – Bugs Bunny - the giants. He’s worked with them all- from Mighty Mouse to Mickey Mouse, but none perhaps bigger than his time when he forged a relationship with Charles Schulz and the Peanuts gang. With Charlie Brown, Lucy and Snoopy he created true magic and history with 'A Charlie Brown Christmas' (1965) and 'Charlie Brown's All Stars' (1966). A man that both Walt Disney and Charles Schulz trusted with their creations– yes because he could draw great characters, but also because he had great character.
