Rare British Cuban Mahogany Tall Case Clock, circa 1740 . Two-Train Movement striking the quarter hour, the brass face with subsidiary dials, one for date/day and another with strike/silent, on a mat center, with Roman numerals, in the top arch with Month/Date and Strike/Silent, with signature plate for "Wm Webster Exchange Alley London", William Webster II being an eminent maker of the period. The arched hood with stop-fluted columns, the sides with glazed plates, the case with a door, on a squared base with bracket feet. Original pendulum, weights, winder and key included.
