Proenza Schouler is a New York-based luxury fashion brand founded in 2002 by Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez while they were still students at Parsons School of Design, who named the label after their mothers’ maiden names. The brand gained instant acclaim when Barneys New York purchased their entire senior thesis collection, eventually leading to five prestigious CFDA awards. In early 2025, the founders stepped down from designing to join Loewe, leading to the appointment of Rachel Scott as the new creative director. Known for signature items like the PS1 handbag, the brand has expanded into footwear, fragrance, and a casual "White Label" sister collection.
