Condition: Minor scuff on frame. Overall excellent.

Peter Michael DeMare Jr. was born in Farmingdale, New Jersey on August 23rd, 1927. In 1944 he was granted early enlistment into the United States Navy, serving as a personnel officer with the rank of Lieutenant. After returning home from service he lived in Greensboro, North Carolina, where he worked and married his wife of nearly sixty years, Carol. In the early 1990s they retired to Sarasota, Florida, where he began exploring painting. His self-taught works were exhibited frequently at local galleries and art centers in the Tampa Bay area, sought by local collectors for their geometrically-inclined depictions of still lifes, tropical vistas, and coastal landscapes. He passed away in his sleep on October 20th, 2022, and was interred in Sarasota National Cemetery with full military honors.
