Percy Lancaster (1878-1950) was a British artist who abandoned a career in architecture to study at the Southport School of Art. He worked in oils, watercolors, and drypoint etching, primarily capturing views of the countryside. Lancaster is best known for his engravings, which often depicted scenes of city life and commoners, contrasting with his usual subject matter. A recognized figure in the art community, he was a member of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers and frequently exhibited with the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours.
