Pennsylvania Federal tall-case cherry wood clock by Charles Cooper (1779 - 1832), a clock maker from Lebanon, Pennsylvania. This attractive weight-driven clock has a broken arch pediment, a moon phase dial with lunette, a seconds dial with the original hands, exquisite brass spandrels, an eight-day brass movement and a 29 1/2 day calendar, a case key for the central door, Sheraton turned feet, and the face is engraved “Charles Cooper Lebanon”. Cooper was a cabinet and clock maker who had a retail shop in Market Square in Lebanon; it is believed he made musical and astronomical clocks from around 1805 to the 1820’s. An original clock with a beautiful patina that has never been touched, there is separation and light wood cracks in the base, commensurate with age, and slight loss below one molding. The clock was probably made circa 1805 and measures 93 1/2 in. high x 18 1/2 in. wide x 10 1/2 in. deep. Please note that all sales are final. No refunds will be given under any circumstances.
