Peder Marius Jensen (1883–1925) Denmark, Bronze and Marble Eagle Statue. Large patinated bronze eagle statue attached to black and white marble base. Incise signature on on base, Pr. Jensen.

Peder Marius Jensen (1883–1925) was a Danish sculptor renowned for his dynamic bronze works that often depicted powerful animals and mythological figures. Born in Fredericia, Denmark, he began his artistic career in Dresden around 1901 and later collaborated with sculptor Carl Bernewitz in Berlin and Kassel. Jensen's sculptures are characterized by their realism and attention to detail, exemplified in pieces like Fighting Bisons, which features two bison in combat with ivory horns, and Großer Tischadler, a large bronze eagle with outstretched wings mounted on a marble base. His work Greek Warrior with a Spear on a Mounting Horse showcases his ability to capture motion and strength, drawing comparisons to Daniel Christian Rauch's lion fighters. Jensen's sculptures have been exhibited and auctioned internationally, reflecting his enduring legacy in the realm of early 20th-century European sculpture.
