Pair of Chinese Carved Soapstone Bookends.
The details of the carving are quite intricate. The feathers on the bird’s body are meticulously rendered, and the veins of the leaves on the branch are clearly visible. The flower petals are also realistically carved, with each petal having a slightly different shape and size.
The overall impression of the bookend is one of peace and tranquility. The bird’s calm demeanor and the delicate flowers create a sense of serenity. The carving is also very well-executed, with the artist paying close attention to detail.
