Pair of Albert James Webb Etchings (1891-) NY. Pencil Signed & Titled. Not numbered, but have similar federal art project nyc-wpa in lower left of each image. WPA refers to Works Projects Administration. The Federal Art Project began in the early 1930s. It served as a way for artists to make a living / capture rural aspects of life in exchange for a government salary. Post Depression these artists preserved a stark reality that otherwise may not have been recorded.
