Neal Doty (1941-2016) was an American painter who studied fine art at Los Angeles City College and later focused on abstraction at California State University, Northridge. After serving a year in Vietnam, he briefly attended USC School of Medicine while working as a paramedic, all while continuing his art exploration. In 1976, he won 1st Place at the Larchmont Art Exhibit for his Expressionist portraits, which led to commission work with Paramount Studios in Hollywood. Doty's innovative printmaking and painting techniques in the 1980s and 90s brought him international recognition, with his work exhibited at major fairs globally.
