Nano López (born October 31, 1955, in Bogotá, Colombia) is a celebrated contemporary sculptor best known for his imaginative and richly textured bronze works that blend organic elements, whimsical forms, and expressive surface details. He showed artistic talent early in life and, after studying and working in Europe—including time in Spain with sculptor Francisco Baron and studies in Paris—he moved to the Pacific Northwest of the United States, where he refined his techniques in welding, tooling, casting, and patina development while working with foundries and artists in the region. López’s sculptures often depict animals and fantastical figures—sometimes called “Nanimals”—that reflect his lifelong fascination with nature, human experience, and the interplay between organic and man‑made forms. His work is widely exhibited and collected, admired for its blend of classical skill, experimental texture, and imaginative storytelling.
