Anna Efverlund was born in 1950 in Sweden. She went to work for Breger Design in Malmö in the early 1970s, and designed bicycles and mopeds in Brazil in the late 70s. In 1980 she joined the multinational furniture company Ikea’s design department, where she continues to work within their entire range of products, including textiles and plastics. She was also the lead designer of the playground constructed in the Ikea department store in Småland (the hometown of founder Ingvar Kamprad) and the Cirkus Restaurang on the island of Djurgården in central Stockholm. 

Neil Cohen was born in 1960 in Syosset, New York. He attended Rhode Island School of Design, graduating in 1983 with two degrees, one in Industrial Design and the other in Glassmaking. He spent a year traveling the country by motorcycle, visiting numerous studios and manufacturers to explore the current home décor market and witness evolutions in style and design first-hand. In 1984 he went to work for Steuben Glass at the Corning Glassworks, developing their Equinox and Star Stream line as Designer of Contemporary Leading New Products. In 1987 he left to work for Nambé International, an American subsidiary of British-based company Portmeirion Pottery, focusing mainly on silver and tableware. In 1990 he became head of the New York division of the Japanese-based Hoya Crystal company, building their market for over ten years. In 2000 he opened his own studio, designer inc., which he continues to run while crafting designs for Nambé, Hoya, Cozzolino, and other companies. Cohen has lectured at his alma mater, as well as at Pratt and Parsons School of Design. His work has been recognized for its innovation by the Steelcase/Interiors Design Partnership, featured in The New York Times and New York Magazine, and was chosen for the AIGA Objects of Design Award. The Japan Arts Council has a permanent exhibition of his designs.
