Syrian or Moorish Inlaid Folding Gaming Table
This intricately crafted table is a fine example of Syrian, Moorish, or Middle Eastern furniture design, showcasing a rich tradition of geometric marquetry. The exterior surfaces and legs are inlaid with a stunning combination of mother-of-pearl, bone, hardwoods, and metal, arranged in meticulously detailed geometric and floral patterns.

When closed, the table serves as an elegant console or accent table. However, the hinged top opens to reveal a beautifully inlaid game board surface, likely designed for backgammon. The playing field features alternating triangles crafted from rich exotic woods and inlay, flanked by central diamond-shaped motifs that enhance both aesthetics and symmetry.

The craftsmanship demonstrates a high level of artisanal skill, blending form and function. With a lower platform shelf also decorated in intricate marquetry, this piece is both practical and ornamental
