Monumental European "1742" Silver Tankard 59.5 ozt. Silver Gilt Wash Throughout. Dated March 4, 1742 Engraved on the top with floral Anniversary Memorial. Marked to be Petter Ersson Lund (1713-1749) Stockholm Sweden.
The heart beat like silver crossing below that silver marks is found in very early German Silver (1600s). Gilt Vermeil Interior.
Cherubs / Cupid Molded to adorn the handle.
Grapefruit style legs / Finial
Bottom has makers mark:
G = refers to year 1765, but there is no cat's paw (tre konor) that begin in 1752, which signifies it is earlier than 1765.
PL = Petter Lund or his son Stockholm Sweden.
A Face = Saint Erik , Patron Saint of Stockholm
