Monumental Early 20th Century Russian Orthodox Icon.
St. Nicolas, the Miracle Worker, icon depicts significant scenes and moments of his holy life in the context of Orthodox Religion. This is an important subject in Russian Orthodox Tradition of Iconography. Old Orthodox believers use this subject mostly in late 19th and early 20th centuries. Likely Moscow or North Russian Style of Iconography, probably created at a monastery. Materials: tempera/gold leaf on wood.
In very good condition, there is a previous repair at front bottom right that is nearly imperceptible.
