Watson & Newell began in 1874 as Cobb, Gould & Co. in Attleboro, Massachusetts, first making gold-plated jewelry before shifting to silver under Watson & Newell in 1875. The firm expanded rapidly, opening a large factory in 1896 and creating subsidiaries for flatware, souvenir spoons, and buttons. Renamed The Watson Company in 1920, it became known for silver and flatware designs until its sale to R. Wallace & Sons in 1955, which retired the name. Though J.T. Inman later acquired Watson’s dies, they were never put back into production.
Commensurate with age.
