Mitchell Gaudet, (Born 1962) American, (2) Studio Inferno Blown Art Glass Items. One is a candle holder with a lid and cameo bamboo shapes on the sides, unsigned. The other is a rich green color, and signed on the bottom along with the date 1993. 

Condition: Flea bite on lip of green piece. 

Size: (largest) 9 x 9 x 9 in. 

Mitchell Gaudet was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1962. Fascinated by art from a young age, he first obtained his BA from Louisiana State University, where he discovered a love of hot glasswork. He earned his MFA from Tulane University in 1987, and in 1991 he opened Studio Inferno, a glass studio and artists space that he continues to maintain today in his hometown. The cultural gumbo of people and customs, music and carnivals, tradition and revolution that define the city have also heavily inspired their production line, no matter how big or small a piece, and his work has made its way into public and private collections throughout the United States. Gaudet travels frequently to teach at the Pilchuck School of Glass, the Toyama Institute of Glass in Japan, and the Ceramics School in Bornholm, Denmark.
