Michael Aram (Born 1963) American, (3) "Boneware" Silverplated Serving Pieces. Designed in the 1990s with an eye-catching skeletal motif, these silverplated metal tools include a hip-joint form salad spoon, a tibia-and-fibula meat fork, and a ribcage-and-spine shaped fish server. All three come in a burlap storage bag with the designer's name written on it.

Largest Size: 10 x 1 1/4 in.

Michael Aram (Born 1963) is an American designer and metal artist celebrated for his handcrafted home décor, tabletop items, and sculptures. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he grew up listening to the stories of his grandparents who survived the Armenian Genocide, and developed an early sense of cultural awareness and justice that informs much of his work. He studied Art History at Bates College and Fine Arts at the University of Florence before moving to New York City in 1987 to continue his studies at the Art Students League and work on poster and book design for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. A pivotal trip to India in 1988 introduced him to traditional metalworking techniques, which became the foundation of his distinctive style. Launching his first collection in 1989, Aram quickly expanded to a global business, with creations sold in over 600 locations worldwide. His work encompasses functional and decorative objects, often inspired by nature, culture, and mythology, and includes commissions for Armenian churches, Jewish festivals, charitable events, and even Pope Francis. In 2007, he opened his first Manhattan boutique and continues to divide his time between New York and Florida with his husband Aret and their twin children.
