Mary Proctor (b.1960) Florida.
Large Mother Mary Mixed Media Folk Art. "Oh Mary the Mother of Jesus if she could have she would have" quoted at the top. Signed and dated lower right. Proctor is known for using house paint and creating art on old doors that she accumulated in her flea market, adding religious messages, mosaic, and collage decoration. Believing that she is divinely inspired to spread her message, she signs her work Missionary Mary L. Proctor. Missionary Mary has been the subject of at least twelve one-woman museum exhibitions, and has been included in more than 40 group shows.
