Marilyn Blinkhorn is a contemporary New England artist based in Portland, Maine, recognized for her vibrant, modernist-inspired paintings that explore the interplay of color, shape, and texture. Educated at the Massachusetts College of Art, the Portland School of Art, and the University of Massachusetts Lowell, she further refined her skills under the mentorship of watercolorists Betty Lou Schlemm and Carlton Plummer. Blinkhorn's artistic journey has taken her through diverse landscapes—from the woodlands of Vermont to the coastal vistas of Maine—each influencing her distinctive style. Working primarily with water media, she combines transparent watercolor layers with acrylics to create rich, textured compositions that often depict serene natural scenes and everyday life.
