Maeve Harris is an American abstract painter known for her ethereal, nature-inspired works that explore the interplay of color, light, and texture. Born in New Jersey in 1976 and now based in Seattle, Harris began painting at an early age and later earned a BFA in photography from Arizona State University. Her background in photography and printmaking informs her unique approach to layering pigments, metallics, and mixed media to create luminous, atmospheric compositions.
Harris’s work draws heavily from the natural world—misty landscapes, organic forms, animals, and seasonal light often emerge from her abstract surfaces. Using a variety of unconventional tools like rollers, sprays, and even coffee or wax, she builds depth and movement into her pieces, making each one feel both spontaneous and meditative.
Now living and working on a farm in the Cascade foothills, Harris balances her art practice with rural life, raising animals and hosting workshops. Her paintings have been exhibited widely across the United States, collected by both private and corporate clients, and featured on platforms like Celebrity Apprentice. Whether through originals or limited-edition prints, her work continues to captivate viewers with its poetic interpretation of the natural world.
