Louis Tedesco was born in Manhattan, started painting in 1959, and moved to New Mexico in 1993 where he painted full time and became an instructor at the Taos Institute of Art. In 2003, Louis decided it was time for a change and moved to the Sunshine State where he lived in the Sarasota area.
A major turning point in Louis Tedesco's approach to painting took place in the 1980's, when he was exposed to the teaching methods and concepts of painter David Leffel. Tedesco began to understand the primacy of light & shadow and their ability to produce a sense of realism in paintings.
