Leslie Uguccioni was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1944, and became interested in art at a young age. She moved with her husband and son to Sarasota, Florida in the 1960s, where she graduated from Ringling College of Art and Design and went on to join the faculty in 1977. In 1989 she left Ringling to take on a permanent position teaching multiple art forms at the Sarasota County Adult Education School, which she still holds. Her sculptures, drawings, paintings, and other works have been exhibited throughout Florida in numerous galleries and museums, and can be found in public and private collections all along the East Coast.
